چکیده

Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) is a wireless network that is formed on the fly between a collection of cars connected by wireless links. VANET has gained a great amount of attention during recent years and is used for a large number of safety (accident warning, weather notification) and non-safety (multimedia, gaming) applications. One of the most promising areas where VANET can be proved to be very useful is Traffic Management. Various approaches that have been tried for Traffic Management ranges from those that takes assistance from roadside infrastructure [7], [8] to purely infrastructure-less approaches [6]. In this paper we have addressed a very important issue of Traffic Management. Our proposed approach provides assistance in traffic routing by integrating VANET and Grid Computing. By using our approach a driver can always find out a feasible route to reach its destination based on congestion all around the path from its current position to destination. The proposed approach is scalable, simple and can be easily adapted to run in any environment. KeywordsVANET, Traffic Management, Grid Computing, Traffic Routing, Ad hoc Network,

Modeling of VANET Technology & Ad-Hoc Routing Protocols Based on High Performance Random Waypoint Models

Today, one of the new technologies in the modern era is Vehicular Ad-hoc Network which has takenenormous attention in the recent years. Because of rapid topology changing and frequent disconnectionmakes it difficult to design an efficient routing protocol for routing data between vehicles, called V2V orvehicle to vehicle communication and vehicle to roadside infrastructure, called V2I. Designin...

Network Parameters Evaluation in Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) Routing Protocols for Efficient Message Delivery in City Environment

Abstract- Efficient message delivery in city environment is required to ensure driver’s safety and passenger’s comfortability. In cities of developed nations, routing of data in vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) faces many challenges such as radio obstacles, mobility constraints and uneven nodes distribution. These factors primarily makes communication between vehicles complex. To overcome and t...

A Novel Method for VANET Improvement using Cloud Computing

In this paper, we present a novel algorithm for VANET using cloud computing. We accomplish processing, routing and traffic control in a centralized and parallel way by adding one or more server to the network. Each car or node is considered a Client, in such a manner that routing, traffic control, getting information from client and data processing and storing are performed by one or more serve...

A New Hybrid Routing Algorithm based on Genetic Algorithm and Simulated Annealing for Vehicular Ad hoc Networks

In recent years, Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANET) as an emerging technology have tried to reduce road damage and car accidents through intelligent traffic controlling. In these networks, the rapid movement of vehicles, topology dynamics, and the limitations of network resources engender critical challenges in the routing process. Therefore, providing a stable and reliable routing algorithm is ...

A VANET Based Approach to Control Traffic Congestion

The aim of the paper is to overcome traffic congestion of the real world. This paper provides a system which sends the information to drivers about traffic density near the junctions. The system develops an Intelligent Traffic Lights (ITLs) which monitors traffic density [1] and information thus collected is sent to other junction. Hence congestion is avoided in that particular junction and tra...
